IV Fun

People do not often start off dates by being poked with IV needles. But we did! We had bumped into Kristi at a basketball game, well, we sat behind her would be more accurate. She wondered if we would be willing to let her practice her IV skills on us. Now, it isn't like she is unskilled in IVs, she is just brushing up on her skills with a different kind of IV. It sounded like we might be able to help a future patient down the road by bearing our arms for her, so we showed up today at the Seben's home.
We both took turns, Wes being more brave got more pokes. It was fun to see Kristi's excitement over what she was doing. She sure does love poking people - little tip for all you blog readers out there. Be prepared for noises of delight coming from Kristi if you ever volunteer to be subjected to her skills. :)

One especially fun thing was that Kristi offered for Wes to give it a try. For an aspiring para medic and an EMT it was too good of an offer to pass up. If you ask me, he did fabulous for his first try. The needle went right in. It was pretty fun to see him "in action".

Two medical gooroos, both looking pretty happy and content.

Wow, wierd, I had no idea Wes had done all that. I feel like I don't know where he's been. What the experience. Brave girl to bear with that poking!

Yes, I do get EXTREMELY excited when that little needle slips into a vein. Euphoric :D Thanks for being such willing "patiens."

Well Abbie, now you know who to ask if you're running out of good date ideas ;)

And yes, Wes did do an awesome job starting one on me! Right in the first time! Most people don't get it in their first time.
